Tesla Tequila has just been released. It all started on April Fool’s 2018 when Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and billionaire entrepreneur, made a joke on Twitter. In this post, we saw Musk passed out against a Tesla Model 3, surrounded by “Teslaquilla” bottles, “the tracks of dried tears still visible on his cheeks.”(click here to see the post). Musk joked about Tesla going bankrupt and, a few days later, the fake news/tease joke was taken to Instagram.
A promise for the future
A new social media post, this time with an actual bottle with a “Teslaquila” label bearing Tesla's logo. The CEO of Tesla didn't include any caption to the post, leaving us “in the dark”. People didn't know if this was just an April Fools' joke or a hint toward the future. Even so, when asked by a fan to sell the Tequilla, Elon Musk replied: “Oh, it's on …”.
On the following Monday, Tesla officially filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to trademark “Teslaquila.” The trademark was specifically for “distilled agave liquor” and “distilled blue agave liquor”, giving hope to a lot of Tesla's fan community. And now is here…
The official launch of the new segment in Tesla's vast line of products: The Tesla Tequila. Unfortunately, due to patent registrations problems, the name “Teslaquila” was left behind. However, The Tesla Tequila has just arrived at the market with an electricity volt-shaped bottle, perfectly fitting the company’s charge toward sustainably sourced energy.
For $250, you will receive a 750mL bottle of 40% or 80 proof Tesla Tequila. Described as a sipping tequila, Tesla's new product is “an exclusive, small-batch premium 100% de agave tequila añejo made from sustainably sourced highland and lowland agaves. Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels and into a hand-blown glass bottle, Tesla Tequila features a dry fruit and light vanilla nose with a balanced cinnamon pepper finish.”

History and an opportunity
This is not the first time Elon Musk used social media to raise awareness of one of his projects. In fact, joined with branded merchandise, The Boring Company also gather the world's attention. The project's goal was to construct an underground tunnel network that could be used for his proposed Loop and Hyperloop high-speed transit systems. Musk raised $1 million and drew media attention for selling 50,000 branded hats. He also raised $10 million with 20,000 branded flamethrowers sold. In addition, Musk said the Boring Company would sell interlocking, Lego-style bricks made from rock and soil displaced by the company's tunnel-digging machines.
Musk puts his name amongst many other notable figures like Dwayne Johnson, George Clooney, and many more who invested in this market. Elon Musk surprised us again with his creativity and innovation. The best news is you can join him and acquire a piece of the company by investing in their stocks.
